Do Your Children See the Character of God In YOU?

Image
Join me on the podcast today as I discuss the importance of displaying Godly character for your children to see. Often times we are mindful to show Christ to others as a witness outside of our homes, but what are we displaying at home to our children when no one else is watching? I've said it before and I will say it again... You as a parent are your child(s) greatest influence in the earth. They are watching you, following you and what are you showing them, is it Christ? As they follow you are you leading them to Jesus?  We have to live a life of holiness, just like Jesus. A life that exhibits the Love of Jesus. Walk in such a way everyday, that our children can see what we are teaching them about Jesus Christ.  Listen in and please feel free to subscribe to this blog to stay encouraged in your call as a mother. I love you precious mom, and God loves you too! Podcast: Do Your Children See Gods Character in You?

New Addition to the Family!

New Addition to the Family!  About 2 months ago the husband and I came into agreement to purchase the children a DOG!  The kids had been asking for one for quite some time, specifically my oldest son who is 8yrs old. However, my husband didn't think it was such a great idea.  I personally loved the idea of having a cute little puppy running around the yard with the kids!  So, time went on, months and months passed on by and then one day IT HAPPENED...  My husband texted me from work and said "why am I thinking of buying the kids a dog!?" I jumped on the opportunity to encourage his decision, lol. He told me the children must be praying and asking God to change my heart concerning the matter. I thought that was hilarious and probably very true! We've always taught our children they can talk to God about anything on their little hearts. Long story short, I found a lady on Facebook who was a breeder and selling a liter of adorable shih-tzu pupp...

Your Child NEEDS Discipline...

Image
Your Child NEEDS Discipline Now first things first, let me say this... Often when we start talking about discipline people cringe, tense up and immediately get on defense. So relax a minute take a deep breath and let's talk about it. Let's start by defining discipline... One definition of discipline, as described by the web is : the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. Now, i'm sure there will be some who will not agree with this definition or the practicality of the fact that discipline is necessary for children and adults too for that matter, but If you're reading this blog post let's just assume you are with me on this idea. Even if you're not, it's OK. This is not by any means up for debate. So I've outlined below reasons I believe discipline in some form is a MUST! Reason #1 :  God said so: My bible tells me  to "train up a child in the way he should go; an...

When Mommy Needs a TIME OUT Too!

How to Take a Break BEFORE You Snap!! It's been a long week in mommy world and let's face it, you are  TIRED! Long days have been followed by long nights and you are barely functioning on the caffeine from your morning coffee. You've been up all night with a fussy baby, or perhaps a sick toddler only to awake at the crack of dawn to start "moming" all over again.  With all the constant cooking, cleaning, playing kid games, disarming battles between siblings, homework assignments, laundry, preparing lunches and dinners (the kids refuse to eat), kissing boo-boo's, wiping tiny bottoms,  and the list goes on...  You feel like SNAPPING! but you are desperately trying to hold on to your composure.  Being a mom is a FULL time J.O.B. ( I don't care what anyone says/thinks). You work hard every single day and I commend you!  But what do you do when you have finally reached your breaking point?  What do you do when mommy needs a time out too? How...
