Peace in the Storm
So much is happening in our world today and much i'm sure is changing in your life. Through it all you may be struggling to hold on to peace in the midst of the storm. It's important in times like these (and in all times) to remember the promises of the Lord. Promises such as I will never leave you or forsake you. I come to declare to you today that you CAN have peace in the middle of a storm! Even though things are tough, maybe a bit rocky or to the point where it is out of your control, hold on to peace. Don't allow circumstances to disrupt the peace God has given you. Keep your heart and mind stayed on Jesus.
"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you."
-Isaiah 26:3-
While it may be difficult to hold on to peace in the midst of turmoil and while signs of anxiety rear it's head, remember this: God is with you and He is always in control. Nothing you can be experiencing right now in life has caught God by surprise. So, we must safely trust that what God allows, he has already made provision for. God is ever faithful and true. And if you have walked with the lord for any amount of time, you know that he never fails. Hallelujah!
The peace that God gives surpasses all of our own understanding. It's not peace like man gives, it's an overwhelming, unexplainable peace that only comes from God. I'm talking about peace that you have in the midst of turmoil, that just makes no sense! Only God can do that for you. If you are struggling to find or receive that peace today, ask God for help, he is always there and ready to help you.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:7- (ESV)
You see, in order to be able to trust in the Lord you must know his character. We trust others based on their character. Has God not always been faithful? Has he not always been good? Has he not always provided or made a way for you? I can have peace in whatever I face knowing that the God I trust is with me, he helps me and is faithful to see me through.
Let's Pray!
