Suffering In Darkness as a Child of Light

As believers we have been brought out of darkness into the marvelous light of Jesus Christ. How is it then that some of us are yet suffering in silent darkness. Are you a woman who is suffering in darkness today?

Do you find yourself overcome with feelings of sadness that no one around you knows about? Do you hide away in a quiet room some days to cry? Are you suffering through life and motherhood with no joy? Do you feel lost and alone? Well you don't have to suffer alone. You don't HAVE to suffer in motherhood at all. Today, we call you OUT of darkness and depression. There is an answer to your trouble and his name is JESUS!

As believers in Christ, saved from sin by the blood of the lamb, we are called to be children of light in the earth. We should not be as others who know not Christ. We are to know him, and in such a way shine like him in the earth. The bible tells us that we were once in darkness (before we came to follow Jesus and know his truth) but are now children of the light. We have been called out of darkness into light! Therefore if you are suffering in a dark place in life today I call you OUT in Jesus name!!

When one is walking in darkness, they have no sight, no insight and cannot see where they are currently or where they are going from there. It's easy to be drowned in darkness, but today I encourage you to lift up your head oh ye gates and be ye lifted up and the king of glory shall come in!

You see, two things can happen to you within a dark place...

1.You can stumble, fall and remain defeated.
 OR
 2. You can forget about your own ability and trust in God's.

Which one will YOU choose? It may seem easier to give up and remain defeated, but NO. You can do this because it's in Christ that we have the victory. I've learned through the years that when we are in the midst of a storm it is nearly impossible to see yourself on the other side of it. It's very difficult to see and believe that this too will pass. God has always and will always carry you through, even through the darkest moments in your life. Is there anything to hard for God? Absolutely not!

It's within the dark places of our lives that God reminds us that we are not capable alone to sustain ourselves. We need God, we cannot lose sight of this very thing. It's when we lose sight of Jesus and his ability that we fail. Just as Peter did when faced with a storm and called to walk on water. Jesus is our hope and should always be our focus. This is why we are told in scripture that he will us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on him. There is an absence of peace when we focus on all the other things happening around us and even to us sometimes. God is like, if you would just stay focused on what I said, my very word will carry you through to the other side of this storm and will do so while keeping us in perfect peace.

God is not afraid of your troubles. He's not surprised by them nor is he unequipped to handle them. This is why we must learn to cast our cares upon the Lord, for he cares. His word also declares unto to us that MANY are the afflictions of the righteous. The new living translation says it so well I believe. It says " The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time".  I love that!! That's a word to hold on to right there. Though you may experience trouble, and if you live on the earth long enough you are sure to experience trouble, you can have this confidence. That the Lord will rescue you each time!

Keep your eyes on Jesus today precious mom and go forth in his power and in his might! You have been called OUT of darkness and so we declare that though you may be down and hurting you will NOT stay there. I submit to you this, cry if you must and then SHIFT!! Come up and come out NOW in Jesus name!!!

You must trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. For GREAT is our Lord and he is of GREAT power!!! His understanding is infinite. You don't have to have all the answers right now, you just have to believe in the one who does... God.

I want you to know dear mother, that if you need help. Don't be afraid to speak up. There are many resources available to assist you in this area of your life. Yes, we believe in the redeeming power of Jesus Christ, and we also believe that God has put capable persons in the earth to help you and guide you so that your mental health is well and in tact. You matter! Your mental health matters! We often see doctors for our bodies and physical health, but let's not put aside the need to take care of our mental and spiritual health as well. If you need help and someone to talk to, reach out. Don't suffer in darkness alone.

Scriptures:

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Psalm 34:19 (KJV) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all....

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Let us Pray:

Father God in the name of Jesus, today I pray for the weary mom who is suffering in darkness as a child of the light. Lord God I ask that you would strengthen her through and through and that you oh Lord would encourage her weary heart and mind. Show her Lord that you love her with and everlasting love and that nothing can separate her from your love. Heavenly father, I ask that you would guide her through this season of her life and bring her through to the other side of this storm. In the name of Jesus we bind any and every spirit of torment and depression that have come to bind her and we release her now from every burden of guilt and shame in Jesus name! Amen
